Circuit Info Bahrain

Bahrain International Circuit is located in the capital of Bahrain: Manama. It has a length of 6,299 km and 23 turns. It is the primarily known as the venue for the Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix. The Bahrain Grand Prix is usually the 3rd race on the Formula 1 calendar.

The circuit is designed by the German architect Hermann Tilke and cost about USD 150 million. The complex consists of 6 tracks, an oval test track and a drag race strip. The Bahrain Circuit used to have a unique problem: because of its location in the desert there were concerns about sand coming onto the circuit. That problem has been solved by the circuit organization that sprayed an adhesive on the sand around the circuit. The asphalt of the Bahrain International Circuit is appreciated by many circuit owners because of the high grip level it offers.

The circuit is also the venue for drag racing, the traditional 24 hours of Bahrain and GP2.
